Questions About the Snagging Process
What is snagging?
The word ‘Snagging’ is used to describe the process of fault finding or issue identification. It is an informal expression used in the building trade, especially New Builds.
Do you offer de-snagging/re-inspection services?
Yes! We do offer a de-snagging/re-inspection service. This service is offered at 50% of the original Snagging cost of the property.
You can also opt for paying up front for a de-snagging/re-inspection service when you book the original snagging survey.
What is the best time to carry out a snagging inspection?
We recommend a snagging inspection as soon as your New Build Property is ready to move into, or shortly after you have moved in. Be aware that your developer is required to fix any issues, faults or snags up to 2 years after completion. We often get home owners booking us in shortly before the end of their 2 year warranty.
Do I need to be present for the inspection process?

Our snagging inspectors check every aspect of your new build home, all interior and exterior of your property that is visible will be inspected. We also inspect the garden, garage, driveway, roof and guttering.
Why is snagging important?
Snagging is a necessity. It uncovers any defects in your property before your warranty period ends. This saves you a lot of time and money trying to rectify it later. Snagging issues range from un-level ceilings, floors and walls, to heating faults, leaks, damaged units, missing insulation, poor joinery and even structural issues.
Will you visit a second time for re-inspection if something is not in working order or unfinished?
We do not do revisits due to the property being unfinished. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to ensure that the property in question is fully completed before booking us in for an inspection. The property should be clean and ready to move in.
